you have to brush your teeth

To maintain healthy oral hygiene, white teeth and fresh breath, knowing how to properly brush your teeth is just as important as the type of manual brush you use. Some people will brush their teeth after each meal, however, the minimum recommended time is twice a day for at least two minutes of brushing.

There are 4 easy steps to remember for proper use of a manual toothbrush:

Step 1

Holding the brush at a 45 degrees angle, start at the gum line with the inner and outer surfaces of the gums. Be sure to reach the gums in the back of your mouth as well. When brushing your gums, be sure to brush as gently as possible to prevent damages.

Step 2

Hold the toothbrush flat on your teeth and use a back and forth motion. Brush each side of your teeth on the top and bottom. Adding a few small circles with the bristles will allow the brush to get into more of those little areas between your teeth.

Step 3

Brush the inside of your front teeth on the top and bottom, then tilt the brush to clean the front of your teeth with an up and down motion.

Step 4

This is an important step to prevent bad breath odors, with a back to front sweeping motion brush your tongue to conclude your teeth brushing,

With practicing these 4 steps every day you will find that your mouth and teeth are healthier and easier to maintain daily. If you find brushing your teeth boring for the whole 2 minutes, after you have mastered the steps you can listen to music while brushing.

When teaching young children to use manual toothbrush, be sure to choose the proper brush for their age. It is better to do a water run when going through the brushing steps for the first few times before applying toothpaste. This process will allow the child to get comfortable with how to use the toothbrush easier without making a mess.

Remember that the quality of how you brush your teeth is more important than the time you spend brushing your teeth. Get the most out of each brushing regiment and your teeth will be healthier.
